ABSTRACT

Contamination of food with natural toxins is a major concern for stakeholders along the whole food and feed chain. In particular, phycotoxins - metabolites produced by unicellular microalgae - and mycotoxins - secondary metabolites of fungi - are associated with different adverse health effects for animals and humans.
