RESUMEN

Speak Out for Support (SOS-VICS) is a pilot project focussed on training interpreters specialised in helping gender violence (GV) victims to communicate. The project is co- financed by the EU’s Criminal Justice Programme and project partners include 9 Spanish universities led by the University of Vigo, as well as other collaborating entities and professionals. This report presents the results of the survey performed on interpreters, with a view to designing a programme to train interpreters in providing linguistic communication services to foreign female GV victims that do not speak Spanish or the other official languages in Spain. After analysing the different possible techniques that could be used in our research, it was decided that the Delphi method was the most appropriate method for our case. It is a structured technique which involves surveying a homogenous group of experts, with a view to obtaining convergence of their opinions (on a specific topic) to the most appropriate result.
