Los planes de estudio de traducción e interpretación en las nacionalidades históricas del Estado español

Abstract

In this chapter, we are going to first outline the establishment and development of Translation and Interpreting Studies in Spain to later conclude by focusing on the specificities of translation and interpreting in the Spanish Autonomous Communities that have their own language undergoing a normalization process. The need of professionals’ training to satisfy the great demand of translation coming from the different both private and public institutions, mainly the European Union, has lead to several changes: the initial “Diplomatura” (3-year degree) became a “Licenciatura” (5-year degree) which, in turn, after the Bologna Reform, is now a “Grado” (4-year degree). Throughout a standardization process concerning both language and culture, and reflecting the last thirty years of Spanish history, the different programmes of these Autonomous Communities have been shaping the various study tracks and areas of expertise

En este capítulo haremos un breve recorrido sobre la implantación y el desarrollo de los Estudios de Traducción e Interpretación dentro del Estado español, para finalmente centrarnos en las especificidades de traducción e interpretación en las Comunidades Históricas con lenguas en proceso de normalización La necesidad de formación de profesionales debido a la demanda de traducción desde diferentes instituciones tanto públicas como privadas, sobre todo la Unión Europea, llevaron a que las iniciales diplomaturas se convirtiesen en licenciaturas y en los actuales grados con la reforma de Bolonia. Los diversos planes de estudio de estas comunidades han ido con­struyendo diferentes modalidades y especialidades de traducción a lo largo de un proceso de normalización lingüístico y cultural que remite a los últimos treinta años de nuestra historia
