To accomplish this, the subsequent approach is followed: a) Synthesis of transition metal oxide (and oxyhydroxide) nanocrystals (CoFe2O4, Cr2O3 and β-FeOOH) by means of several colloidal chemistry methods, so as to obtain nanoparticulate or heterostructured composite samples; b) Characterization of these samples through specific techniques such as transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and VSM magnetometry; and c) Analysis of the magnetic properties registered and their correlation with the crystalline structure aiming for a rational design and their implementation in fields like spintronics or magneto-optics.
