RT Dissertation/Thesis T1 Zebrafish ("Danio rerio") as infection model to study the pathogenesis of the bacteria "Aeromonas hydrophila" T2 El pez cebra ("Danio rerio") como modelo de infección para el estudio de la patogénesis de la bacteria "Aeromonas hydrophila" A1 Saraceni, Paolo Roberto K1 24 Ciencias de la Vida K1 2412 Inmunología K1 3399 Otras Especialidades Tecnológicas AB In this project I will develop diferentes infection models using zebrafish (Danio rerio) to study the pathogenesis of the bacteria Aeromonas hydrophyla which is an opportunistic pathogen in humans. I will perform the gene expression profiling of the zebrafish immune response after A. hydrophila challenge using microarray and also I will make the functional analysis of selected host immune genes involved in this response using gene knockdown technology (morpholino) and knockout zebrafish lines. In addition I will use transgenic lines with fluorescent immune cells to characterized in vivo the inflammatory response and the host pathogen interactions triggered by the bacteria. Furthermore I will use several Aeromonas hydrophila mutants to identify which virulence factors are mainly involved in the pathogenesis.
