RT Dissertation/Thesis T1 Electro-Fenton and adsorption as approach towards a comprehensive remediation of effluents with different types of pollutants T2 Electro-Fenton y adsorción como solución hacia la remediación global de efluentes de diversa naturaleza A1 Meijide Fernandez, Jessica K1 3308 Ingeniería y Tecnología del Medio Ambiente AB The presence of synthetic compounds in the environment have increased in the last decades as consequence of the agricultural and industrial activity. Many of them are considered emergent pollutants and they are sometimes very resistant to the action of the microorganisms. The accumulation of these contaminants has environmental and economic consequences and for this reason, its decontamination is one of the priority aims in environmental politics of developing countries.Currently, the techniques of decontamination used are not able to solve this problem. As a result, it’s necessary the search of low cost technologies which allow the total elimination of the pollutant and the development of new process which are able to apply in several mediums due to the presence of these compounds in soils, sediments or water. In this context, the main aim of this thesis is the study of new techniques of elimination of pollutants in effluents or solid materials. For this reason, different treatments will apply and develop for the decontamination such as physical and chemical processes especially adsorption and advanced oxidation processes YR 2018 FD 2018-03-16 LK http://hdl.handle.net/11093/965 UL http://hdl.handle.net/11093/965 LA eng NO Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad de España (CTM2014-52471-R) DS Investigo RD 17-sep-2024
